These past few weeks my English teacher has made us read so many books that I haven’t had time to read any of my own choice. So this week I decided to do the Tuesday Teaser from Hamlet by Shakespeare.
This is probably one of my favorite books/plays to read. It has so many quotes that are known with out people even knowing they come from Hamlet.
Here’s the teaser:
Why day is day, night night, and time is time
Were nothing but to waste night, day, and time.
Therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit,
And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes,
I will be brief.
So this is probably one of the more polar quotes from the book. It is just so fun because he talks about how using less words makes someone sound smarter than everyone else, but he takes so much time to say it. It’s on juxtaposition with itself.
Talk to y’all later. Don’t forget to like and comment.
